Richard M. Langone, ESQ.

Richard M. Langone is the managing member of L&A. Richard has more than 20 years experience in both civil and criminal law. In criminal matters, Mr. Langone represents people charged with, or who have been convicted of, serious crimes in New York State and federal courts. He has vast expertise in both New York State and Federal criminal procedure, and the rules of evidence applicable to both jurisdictions.

Mr. Langone has a reputation among criminal defense attorneys and prosecutors in the New York City and Long Island areas as a formidable appellate advocate. He has compassion for his clients and throughout the criminal law process works with them to create a better tomorrow.

Mr. Langone’s extensive background in business law and taxation makes him uniquely suited and capable in the area of white collar criminal defense. For several years, Mr. Langone also served as general and litigation counsel to Alexander Holdings, LLC, a mid-sized holding company that owned numerous businesses and commercial properties. In that capacity, Mr. Langone formed corporations, partnerships, trusts, and LLCs, and advised directors and officers of thosse entities on matters of corporate compliance and applicable tax laws.

Prior to forming L&A, Mr. Langone was a partner at Eldridge & Langone, PLLC, a firm that focused heavily on civil and commercial litigation.

Mr. Langone has tried numerous commercial cases, achieving successful outcomes for the vast majority of his clients.

Mr. Langone is an instrument rated private pilot and has more than 1,200 hours of flight experience. He is a member of A.O.P.A. and the Mooney Aircraft Pilot Association. He has a comprehensive knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), including Parts 91, 120, 121, 135, 141, 405, 406, and 413. He also volunteers as a member of Angel Flight – a charitable organization that flies people with illnesses to hospitals across the country for treatment.

Mr. Langone is admitted to the bar in the State of New York; the Supreme Court of the United States; the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit; and the United States District Courts for the: Southern District of New York, Eastern District of New York, and the Central District of Illinois.

Mr. Langone received a Juris Doctorate degree from Touro Law Center (cum laude), where he served as a member of both the Touro Law Review and the Touro Moot Court Board.  He received Academic Awards for highest grades in Legal Methods I, Legal Methods II, Best Oral Advocate, and Estate and Gift Tax. He later received a Master of Laws degree in commercial law from Touro Law Center, again graduating cum laude.

Mr. Langone also holds a Master of Arts degree in sociology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Sciences and Psychology, cum laude, from SUNY New Paltz.

Mr. Langone was an adjunct professor of law at Touro Law Center, where he taught legal writing, research, and jurisprudence. As an academic, he has published several scholarly articles, including the following:
